Council Update:
MMcD to meet with Tom Murphy in Campbeltown on 13th November between 1 and 3 pm, when he will be taking the Acting Supervisor to each location. MMcD would ask them to address the following,
Killean – tree branches against the wall need to be removed
Kilchenzie – has Council any plan in place to repair the graveslabs broken and laid down. KP suggests that we approach a stonemason for a plan and quote, then present it to the council. Alternatively ask Nik Boyes for quote.
Treasurer’s Report:
As at close of business on 31/10/2025 the groups available balance stood at £3,212.11 (Three thousand, two hundred twelve pounds eleven pence).
On 30/10/25 we received £1000.00 (One thousand pounds) into the account from LOAF which they had been granted by MACC towards the funding for Dr Burmans visit last month. A receipt has been issued to LOAF to cover this transaction.
Confirmation has been received from WKWFT that they have granted us the 90% funds which Marion applied for. They will send official confirmation by letter shortly. Brilliant news!
MMcD confirmed that WKWFT had agreed to pay £3200.00 to cover 90% of the fees for the preparation of the tender documents by KP.
Chairperson’s report:
MMcD has received photos from David Brown of Killean & Kilchenzie from approximately 20 years ago, although they may not show the missing fragments which may be underground.
Update from K Pytasz:
KP working hard on tender documents which should be available in a few weeks. She reported that Dr Burman was attending conferences down South and bringing our project to the attention of others.
KP requested that Dr Burman’s name as Patron should be placed at the top of the website.
KP had spoken to Oliver Lewis about the possibility of obtaining funds from HES for the preparation of the tender documents.
RC was worried that the problems at HES, highlighted in the Press, would affect our funding. KP indicated that once HES ask for the preparation of tender documents, funding will follow.
