COUNCIL UPDATE:
• No Council officers present.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
• Today 3rd February the groups available balance stood at £2,012.11 (two thousand, and twelve pounds, eleven pence). An invoice from Nic Boyes for £1,200 was paid on 29/01 for 3 months storage of Kilkivan Stones (ending March ’26).
• Any grant monies received should now be paid into the Medieval Kintyre bank account and if necessary, appropriately ring-fenced. This will show funders that we are managing to raise our own funds.
• Tabled for the next meeting: A discussion on who & how we pay for storage going forward, as Kilchenzie will be in the same situation shortly.
• GL has been asked to maintain the funding spreadsheet. All information on grant applications & funding received will go through her.
• GoFundMe page – GL to contact Cameron regarding which postcode to use.
CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT:
• West Kintyre Community Fund has granted us £14,500 for the removal of the Kilchenzie medieval grave slabs. KP in the process of applying for Scheduled Monument Consents etc. to Nic Boyes workshop for safe storage and restoration.
• On a recent search KP, GL & MMcD ‘found’ one of the fragments. The Galley fragment is still unaccounted for. KP states HES has no record of it either.
• Still no feedback form Argyll & Bute Council from recent emails regarding the Heads of Terms. MMcD still to contact our lawyer connections regarding the wording of the documents.
• MMcD to contact TM again to arrange an in-person meeting with KP, MMcD and council. Also to arrange for access to Killean for brace tightening.
• MMcD contacted Margaret Pratt regarding the funding from SSEN – the fund board has not be set up yet. Meeting scheduled for later this year.
UPDATE FROM K PYTASZ:
• KP still waiting a reply from Oliver Lewis at HES regarding funding for tender documents.
• KP attempting to set up SharePoint to enable communal sharing of all project documents with the group and potential funders. Requires a conversation with Miscrosoft.
• For Information: Krystyna has emailed Nic Boyes regarding 18 of the fallen stones at Kilchenzie, and the cost of re-erecting them.
UPDATE FROM V NIMMO:
• VN has applied to several groups. Still awaiting responses. Drumlemble Hall Fund have not managed to set up their fund yet.
AOCB:
• Technical in-person meetings will now take place approx. every 6/8 weeks
• GL/KP – would like to know what actually needs to happen for A&BC to unlock the gates at Kilchenzie? Most of the grave stones are lying on the ground – no longer unsafe. This feeds back to why we require more input from the Council.
• Future Teams sub-group meeting 7th April 2026
• Next Technical IP meeting 6th March @ 3pm, Campbeltown Library
Date of Next Meeting – Tuesday 3rd March 2026 @ 10.30am via Teams.
