Welcome: M McDonald welcomed everyone to the meeting
Minutes: Agreed.
Treasurer’s Report:
GL to create a proforma so that an invoice can be sent to LOAF from KKCPA for half the bills where appropriate and vice versa. All payments and credits in bank accounts should have matching paperwork.
Chairperson’s Report
Application to the Wolfson Fund was unsuccessful. KP to contact them as their reason for refusing seemed to indicate that they were unaware that our scheduled monuments had a higher classification than suggested.
MMcD indicated that some funds want to fund specific parts of the project, not just be a part of the whole. KP to identify specific areas, eg restoration of the window arch.
Other funders wishing to know what increase in visitor numbers expected. KP planning to install people counters. Any visitors will be an increase since no access at present!
Open evening was successful, although a bit long. Some folk indicated that there was a lot of information presented in a very short time. Oliver Lewis (HES) stated that while he cannot say that we will get large grant funding, if we didn’t then it would indicate that their own data is dross.
Council Update
Draft Heads of terms have been received from A&B Council.
Few points to correct
Address to be changed
Business rates and LBTT sections may not be relevant
Consistency Licensee/Licensor or Landlord/ Tenant required.
Group requires public Liability insurance. DR suggested contacting TSI or Antonia Baird to get a list of suitable insurers. GL will liaise with Antonia.
KP queried whether work required formal approvement by Council officers. DR indicated that only notice of work needed to be given.
Update from K Pytasz:
Scheduled monument consent should be with her by end of the month, work to start in September. 50% of money from HES should be available within the next few weeks. Stabilisation of wall at Kilkivan would precede removal of graveslabs.
Outside contractors were being used as local contractors declined.
Work will last approximately 2 weeks.
KP stressed the need to engage more young people. EMcT already contacted CGS, awaiting new school term. GL to check if Antonia Baird can help with this
AOCB
Access to Kilchenzie is still an issue. VN to write to Jim Smith, head of roads and John Armour, policy lead for roads, requesting that they contact Transport Scotland/BEAR as a matter of urgency to construct footpath alongside the A83.
RC pointed out that the carpark at Well park is owned by ACHA for tenant use. Clarification required whether the public can use it. Question for Jim Smith.
