MMcD and GL, meeting with Jamie Titterton postponed, hopefully one can be arranged before the end of the year.

VN received a positive email from Dalintober PS.

Council Update

DR will liaise with the relevant departments regarding Heads of Terms, Maintenance schedule, and Heras fencing removal.

Update from K Pytasz:

Emergency work completed by John Munro from Thurso last week, apart from removal of slabs at Kilkivan. Permission from HES to move these expected by 18-10-24. Contractor ready to go. KP will advise exact date asap.

Work completed:-

Killean – bracing was almost completely renewed, additional bracing put in place, and wedges checked, also one of the medieval grave slabs was laid flat in the chancel as it was in danger of splitting. KP will arrange for tightening of the bracing twice a year.

Kilchenzie voided and unstable masonry has been made safe and 2 grave slabs stabilised

Kilkivan – wall substantially bagged and stabilised, KP without this, wall was likely to completely collapse this winter.

Written report from KP to follow.

Main grant applications require a statement of activities being carried out to involve community, need a draft programme.

Also require formal statement from A&BC that they will continue maintenance/grass cutting. DR suggested a possible maintenance partnership.

MMcD need a maintenance programme for all 3 churches upon completion of project for the applications.

MMcD to contact Courier when we have a date for the slab removal at Kilkivan..
